Introduction:

The Emerging Women Program (EWP) is a flagship initiative under the GRIT (Growth, Resilience, Investment, and Training) program, designed to empower and uplift women entrepreneurs in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Over two years, the program will support 100 women in the startup and ideation stages, fostering their growth through mentorship, training, peer collaboration, and networking opportunities.

Program Goals:

  • Networking Opportunities: Building a strong network of like-minded women and industry leaders to foster ongoing collaboration and support.
  • Business Development: Equipping participants with critical entrepreneurial skills, from idea validation to financial management.
  • Mentorship: Providing one-on-one personalized mentorship to guide participants in overcoming challenges and scaling their businesses.
  • Empowerment: Strengthening leadership, confidence, and operational excellence among women entrepreneurs.

Who is the Program For?

The program is specifically tailored for 100 women entrepreneurs who are at the startup or ideation stage and residing in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. Participants will benefit from targeted training, mentorship, and opportunities to showcase their businesses.

How Does the Program Work?

The program is structured into two cohorts of 50 women each, running over two years:

  • Cohort 1: January 2025 – December 2025
  • Cohort 2: January 2026 – December 2026
  • Emerging Women Summit: December 2026

Throughout the program, participants will engage in sessions like:

  • She-EOs on the Rise: Monthly workshops on entrepreneurial skills and personal development.
  • Accountability Circles: Peer groups for goal-setting, progress sharing, and support.
  • Founder Sessions: Inspirational sessions with successful women entrepreneurs.
  • Build Club: Peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing platforms.
  • Mentorship: One-on-one tailored mentorship sessions.
